Jim Lives in Olympia, Washington. He retired from medical practice in 1999. Although he has been doing art all his adult life, he has been able to devote most of his time to painting and photography since then.

He paints in both oil and watercolor.  Subjects include landscape, still life, portrait and architectural work.

Jim does a lot of hiking in Washington as well as travelling worldwide for inspiration for his images.

He has trained at the Gage Academy of Art in Seattle,

the Scottsdale Artists' School in Arizona and the California Watercolor Association.

He exhibits his work at various venues in Olympia.
